Dear Papa Jon…

Dear+Papa+Jon...

Q:

I have this friend who never posts about me on social media. I never thought it was weird until the posted and said, “I love my friends,” but I wasn’t included…

A:

I am so sorry to hear this. With the age we are in, it is hard not to focus on the fact that approval comes through social media. I think that you should hang out with this person more and focus less on what they do or do not post about you on social media. If you continue to feel hurt by it, bring it up to them!

Q:

I never feel like I am really learning anything substantive in college. I feel like I am just learning concepts that aren’t preparing me for the future. Why am I here again?

A:

I hear you, sometimes it feel like college is not preparing you for anything, but I would have to say you are wrong (no offense). In college, we learn about the basic foundations of the world that we want to go into. You learn concepts to help put things into words that you might have never known there was a word for. You then graduate and go out into the “adult world” and learn more about the functionality of the concepts. Don’t give up now, keep pushing through!

Q:

Dude, when is the sun going to come back out?

A:

I don’t know how many times I have answered this question, but here it goes again. I have no idea, but my friends over at the Weather Channel tell me that Thursday is looking promising… but you never know with Seattle weather, do you. So, “who knows” is my final answer!
LET THE SUN SHINE, LET THE SUN SHINE IN.
